Five Fantastic Brunch Spots From Around the World

Brunch is a meal that has something for everyone and it’s something you can enjoy, no matter where you are in the world. It’s a meal to celebrate a big occasion or simply to gather with friends and family just because. Food has such a strong way of pulling us together and creating space to make memories. When I reflect on moments of my life, especially when I think of my past travels, it’s always the food and the restaurants that I remember most. With that in mind, below are our top five brunch spots from around the world.

The Cheeky Neighbour Diner – Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

When I moved to Halifax, this place grabbed my attention right away. Tucked away, it’s a popular hidden gem with a line out the door most days. Don’t worry, it’s totally worth the wait.

The vibes: a chill atmosphere in a modernized diner, with comfort foods made from scratch using local ingredients.

Recommended item: Smoked Salmon on Potato Waffle. This dish is one of my favourite things—potatoes in waffle form, topped with smoked salmon, dill sauce, capers and microgreens. It’s light yet filling and packed with flavour.

Millets of Mewar – Udaipur, Rajasthan, India

I visited this spot in 2015 when I took a trip to Udaipur and it was love at first bite. The food was so fresh and beautifully plated and the colours were captivating!

The vibes: cozy, yet vibrant, Millets of Mewar offers reimagined, traditional fare through creative, authentic and sustainable practices. The ingredients are raw, vegan, fresh, and local leaving you feeling energized to explore the city afterwards.

Recommended item: Millet Veg Biryani with Curd. This dish is full of fragrant spices and comes with veggies and nuts. A great vegan option!

Cotidiano Gärtnerplatz -München – Munich, Germany

I haven’t had the chance to try this spot myself, but it’s been on my list since my friend moved to Munich a few years ago. Their all-day breakfast menu means you can sleep in and enjoy a relaxing brunch before touring the city.

The vibes: warm, friendly, and inviting. The moment you walk in, you feel welcomed. Whether you are solo, a couple, or with the family, they can comfortably accommodate any group size. They also have the most delicious-looking fresh pastry display case!

Recommended item: Pancake Tower Mit Schokosauce (With Chocolate Sauce). This very sweet and tasty pancake tower has fresh organic fruit and is doused with a homemade Belgian chocolate sauce. Your sweet tooth will thank me later.

Floriditas – Wellington, New Zealand

Where better to enjoy brunch than the brunch capital of the world: New Zealand! Brunch is a New Zealander’s favourite meal and Floriditas offers all of the classics like eggs, pancakes, avocado on toast, and smoked fish hash if you’re feeling adventurous.

The vibes: elegant, classic, and sophisticated. If classic were a place, it would be Floriditas. Its beautiful high ceilings filled with just the right amount of windows allow the perfect amount of natural light to flow in without taking away from the five-star ambiance.

Recommended item: Two Eggs, Poached or Scrambled on Toast. You can’t go wrong with a classic brunch choice of eggs on toast. With many sides to choose from, such as crispy potatoes, avocado, or sautéed mushrooms; you won’t be leaving here with an empty stomach.

Sisterfields – Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia

I also haven’t had a chance to visit Bali yet, but it’s at the top of my vacation destination list. Sisterfields is a café known for its Australian roots and outstanding quality coffee. It offers vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options—so there is something for everyone to enjoy!

The vibes: comfortable and spacious. Take a break from the beach to grab a coffee and brunch as you enjoy the panoramic view from the windows. You will be so relaxed as you enjoy your meal you won’t want to leave.

Recommended item: The Green Smoothie Bowl. This dish is packed with Australian-inspired flavours, quality local produce, and nutrients from bananas, kiwi, nasturtium, and barley granola. As a gluten-free and vegan choice, it is sure to leave you feeling energized to enjoy your vacation fully!
